Greenlake Guesthouse

  • Multi-Family + Commercial

This charming 1920’s bungalow residence underwent an extensive renovation to convert it to Seattle’s first bed and breakfast under a new city ordinance. The challenge was to accommodate four new bedrooms and four bathrooms to act as guest spaces on the second floor. I designed two new dormers (front and back) and rearranged the interior spaces to create the required rooms. It was a tight fit but it all works! The new dormers were designed to harmonize with the existing exterior and interior of the house. The final built design of the B & B is in keeping with the period style of the house and it is a good fit with the surrounding neighborhood.
