The primary goal of this project was to remodel the existing kitchen in order to make it a more functional and pleasant space in which to live, work and play. The existing room did not adequately serve the owner’s needs for meal preparation and it was too small for family gathering and entertaining. It did not have enough cabinet space and the stove was “free range” – meaning that it was not built into a countertop and cabinet. As a part of this project the kitchen was expanded into the rear yard, the cabinets were replaced and new windows were added. Double doors were installed to connect one to a new deck and to the back yard. The orange cabinets help “illuminate” the kitchen making it an animated space to live, work and play. The project also included a new master bathroom addition on the second floor.
